Russia keeps 2023 grain crop forecast at 123 mln tonnes
MOSCOW, Jun 28 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry has no plans to revise its 123 million tonne gross harvest estimates for grain, including wheat in 2023 in spite of a bad weather in several regions, Deputy Minister Andrei Razin said on Wednesday.
"The situation is normal and calm so far. We expect a reasonable harvest. We have not adjusted any of the forecasts that the ministry gave," Razin said.
He added that there has recently been a drought in Siberia, in the Altai Region, but it has ended. There are also hailstorms on the north of Caucasus.
The ministry still expects wheat harvest at 78 million tonnes.
